The world-wide remote-control for HDGUARD clients

The new module HDGUARD.remote is the perfect supplement to your HDGUARD network spread over several locations.

HDGUARD is controlled by HDGUARD.master within a local network. In this case the HDGUARD.master provides a comfortable centralized solution to maintain and control all your HDGUARD clients.

In addition HDGUARD.remote offers the ability to control all the HDGUARD clients be they spread over a WAN either town or company wide or just all over the world.

Elements of HDGUARD.remote

The HDGUARD.remote solution comprises three main components:

  • Notebook/PC with HDGUARD.master and HDGUARD.remote
  • HDGUARD.remote proxy on a public accessible server
  • HDGUARD.remote service in a local network (LAN) with HDGUARD clients

HDGUARD.master and HDGUARD.remote:

This is the control console with remote service to control and maintain the HDGUARD clients via WAN or internet.

HDGUARD.remote proxy:

This is the service which is installed on a single IP within an in-house WAN or external server (Internet host). It will pass on the client requests from a LAN via a secured connection.

HDGUARD.remote service:

One component which has to be installed on a permanent running network PC or server. All HDGUARD clients of this network are recorded and enabled to be controlled by the remote console.

In case of multiple HDGUARD.master instances accessing the LAN, the HDGUARD.remote service provides transparent data exchange in real-time in order to give all different HDGUARD.master user the same HDGUARD network view.

The functionality of HDGUARD.remote

HDGUARD.remote can build up secured connections in order to control remote HDGUARD clients the same way as if they were based in a local LAN.

The HDGUARD clients are connected via the HDGUARD.remote service with the internet or WAN. Installed on an external or WAN server, the HDGUARD.remote proxy provides the secure data exchange between the HDGUARD clients and the HDGUARD.remote console.

This structure can be extended with an arbitrary amount of PCs, HDGUARD clients or LANs. A special feature of HDGUARD.remote is the possibility to build up a route between two remote networks regardless of several hubs which might exist.

The HDGUARD.remote service is configured in that way that different HDGUARD.remote services can be combined in one route. This can be done in a hierarchic or linear way depending on the network structure and their components. This should therefore be left to the administrators estimation.
